Steal my 8 best ways to get high quality wedding photography clients

Most wedding photographers guard their favourite marketing ideas like a rabid Honey Badger with low blood sugar.

I’m weird.

I like helping my fellow wedding photographers. Even the ones in my town!

Crazy, right?

Well, I live by this rule:

“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar

So, let’s help you get what you want: High quality wedding photography clients.

Having a consistent flow of enquiries from the kind of wedding couples you want to work with is heavenly.

It means you don’t have to worry about keeping your prices low.

Because you don’t feel desperate to book everyone who calls. You know the phone will ring shortly with another enquiry.

So what’s a great quality enquiry?

A couple who actually care about their wedding photography.

A couple who have set aside a decent budget for their wedding photography.

A couple who are getting married in a beautiful or interesting location.

A couple who are pleasant to work with.

You can find these people with the 8 techniques I’m about to share.

Ok, here’s number one.

What would it mean to you to have all these businesses actively recommending you every time they get an enquiry?

  • A wedding venue
  • A wedding planner
  • A bridal store
  • A florist
  • A DJ
  • and a hair salon

This is exactly what I managed to do. And I’d only been a full time photographer for 2 months when I did this!

And here’s the real shocker…

Most of them had never heard of me at the time.

And they STILL started recommending me!

And guess what, the idea didn’t cost me a penny. Zero. Nada!

Everybody tells you that you need to be patient.

You need to make a name for yourself and earn respect over years and years.

The truth?

If you know what you’re doing, you can leapfrog all your competitors and start getting a constant stream of good quality enquiries within a matter of weeks!

OK, here’s the first idea.

You’re going to email one of each type of wedding supplier: a venue, a wedding planner, a DJ etc.

You’re going to tell them you’re writing a book for wedding couples (don’t worry, it’s a digital book – no printing required about how to choose their ideal wedding suppliers. You’ll obviously cover the photography section.

All you want them to do is give you:

  • Their top 2 tips for choosing a {insert their type of supplier}
  • Their top 2 mistakes to avoid
  • Why a couple should choose their particular company.

Boom – done.

Every business I approached wanted to be included and wrote me their tips. They’re basically writing the book for you.

Now here’s the really cool bit!

You’re going to give all the businesses involved a digital copy of the book (I simply designed mine using a Word Template!) to give to all the couples who contact them.

This means all the businesses in the book are all promoting each other! Not only that, it’s a great way to start a new relationship with these people. You’ll start to be involved in each other’s wedding and strengthen the bond between you all.

It’s a staggeringly effective idea and anyone can do it – even if you’re brand new to the industry.
